Upcoming Sunday Worship: Lent 4: When Faith Becomes Forgetfulness

Mar 15, 2026    Aaron Atchley

As we continue our Lenten journey through the story of Scripture, we come to the book of Judges, where we see how easily faith can drift when God’s people forget what He has done. The story shows a painful cycle—blessing, compromise, struggle, and rescue—that reveals something about the human heart that is still true today. Along the way we recognize that we, too, can slowly drift in our faith when gratitude fades and our attention turns elsewhere. Yet even in the midst of that cycle, God does not walk away; again and again He hears the cries of His people and responds with mercy. This part of our journey invites us to slow down and honestly bring our drifting hearts before God, discovering that repentance is not rejection but grace calling us home. And as we sit with this story, we begin to feel a deeper longing for the Savior who can finally heal what we cannot heal in ourselves.
