Sunday Worship: October 4, 2026 | "Come to the Table"
On World Communion Sunday, we gather with Christians around the world at Christ’s table, welcomed into a people larger than ourselves. In Luke’s Passover account, we remember how God brought Israel out of slavery and see God’s saving love offered to us through Jesus. At the table, we remember God’s faithfulness even as we bring our grief, worries, and questions. We receive Communion as a gift of grace, not a reward for having everything figured out; Christ meets us in our faith, uncertainty, weariness, and hope. Jesus also points us toward the day God’s Kingdom is complete, so we begin to live now in the light of that promise by making room, sharing what we have, and seeking peace. As we share one table across different languages, histories, and traditions, we receive unity as Christ’s gift and let his welcome shape how we live together. We come with gratitude, questions, and memories of grace, trusting that there is room for us and that Christ will meet and feed us.
