Sunday Worship: October 18, 2026 | "Singing in the Darkness”

Oct 18, 2026  •  Aaron Atchley

In this well-known passage, Paul and Silas meet injustice with prayer and song. Their song does not pretend everything is fine; it bears witness to trust in God amid a painful, uncertain night. When the earthquake opens the prison doors, Paul’s compassion carries that witness to the jailer through a life-saving word and an act of care. The jailer and his household hear the good news and are baptized, and new life begins. We remember those whose faith has been a song for us in difficult seasons, helping us see God, and consider who may need our presence now. God sustains us in the dark, and our shared faith can become a song of hope that lights the way for someone else.
