Sunday Worship: July 26, 2026 | "For Such a Time"

The Book of Esther takes us into the Persian Empire, where God’s people are living far from Jerusalem and God’s presence often seems hidden. Esther has become queen while keeping her Jewish identity secret, but when her people are threatened, she must decide whether the safety of silence is worth the cost to others. Mordecai’s challenge reminds us that not causing another person’s suffering does not always release us from responsibility when we are in a position to help. We are not called to fix everything or control the outcome, but we are called to discern the faithful step that may be ours to take. Esther’s courage grows through fasting, community, and a willingness to act without knowing how the story will end. Together, we will ask whose suffering has come within reach of our influence and what faithfulness may require from us in such a time as this.
