Sunday Worship: August 9, 2026 | "Worship for Forgetful People"

We are people who forget, and regular worship helps us remember who God is, what God has done, and who we are because of God’s faithfulness. In 1 Chronicles 16, worship is not passive observation but our active response to God’s grace through thanksgiving, praise, remembrance, generosity, and trust. We need this rhythm because the voices around us constantly try to define us by our success, failure, fear, grief, or usefulness. When we gather for worship, we hear a truer story: God reigns, everything does not depend on us, and God’s faithful love endures forever. Worship also gives us space to bring what is broken, allowing gratitude and honest cries for help to stand beside one another. As we remember God’s faithfulness, we are not trying to become the church we used to be; we are being rooted and formed to become the church Christ is calling us to be now.
