When Worship Becomes Empty

We continue our journey through the story of Scripture, moving from the clarity of Easter into a season where things feel a little less certain and a little more complicated. Along the way, we listen to the prophet Isaiah, who speaks some hard and unsettling words—reminding us that it’s possible to keep doing all the right things and yet be far from the heart of God. As we walk through this time together, we’re invited to notice where that might be true in our own lives—not with judgment, but with honesty. We’re reminded that real worship is not just something we do, but a life that God is shaping as we come closer to Him. And as that takes root in us, it begins to show up in how we live, especially in the ways we care for others. Yet even after those hard words, God does not push His people away, but draws them closer with the invitation, “Come now… let’s settle this.” And together, we respond by simply coming back, trusting that God is still at work, shaping something real within us.
